Today's Verse

I have been feeling disheartened lately by all of the evil and pain that I see in the world today. I have wondered if there is any hope for humanity and begged Jesus to hasten His return so we can finally go home. Then I listened to Pastor Dianne speak of the glory of God and the Lord assured me again that He is still here in this world. He is still in control. He still has a plan. And all of the pain and suffering and evil should just be more motivation for me to spread the love of God to a hurting people. Lord, help me to be your hands and your feet . Let me not grow weary of the task set before me, but let me see your glory and reflect it back to the world.

Fun in the Sun

Jemma and Isabelle came over last Saturday while Shauna and Ben went to see Harry Potter. I decided to let them play with the water activity table and everyone had a blast. Ethan and Jemma kept spraying each other with the hose, sat in the water, and washed Laurin's stuffed monkey. Isabelle and Laina took turns looking under the water with the goggles on.

ReporterHerald- Pond monster may be a gator

ReporterHerald- Pond monster may be a gator

Apparently the link I had before to the story was not working. I'm glad I didn't see it when we were fishing there in May. I have an unnatural fear of lake and pond water as it is.

This Week's Verse

Adventures in Fishing

We've gone fishing here at Jayhawker Ponds several times. It's a nice little area a couple of miles from home with a little dock and everything. We've caught quite a few perch, but never a large lizard.

Not Much Goin On

I found out in the middle of last week that Carter was going to be gone on Friday and Saturday. I decided that it was a perfect opportunity for me to visit mom and dad for a few days. We drove out Friday afternoon and left on Monday morning. We caught fireflies, went to the new WaKeeney swimming pool, saw Grandma Brunk, jumped on the trampoline, watched some videos, played dominoes, held some new kittens, and drove the four-wheeler. Despite the 100+ degree heat, Poppy's hurt hand and mosquitoes, we had a great time.

Update on the Ducks

Ethan had a good time watching a squirrel at the Lagoon by the library

As of last week all of the baby ducks are still alive and well. They seem to kind of run in two separate groups while they are looking for food around the pond. I thought that the black and white picture was kind of cool, so I included it.
